Licensed WorkSafeBC Diver's Medical Exams
At Mariners Medical Clinic we are able to conduct licensed WorkSafeBC Diver’s Medical Exams.
The medical involves obtaining a medical history, physical examination, bloodwork, urinalysis, electrocardiogram (ECG) test, spirometer and a hearing test. We have the equipment to conduct everything conveniently on-site with no need for external referrals.
You must bring the following to your appointment:
- 1. A list of any medications you are taking.

Divers are exposed to unique risks associated with underwater work – these are sometimes referred to as ‘hyperbaric-related injuries’. Consequently, Diver’s Medical Exams ensure workers are fit for the task and enhance short-term and long-term safety for the divers and the success of their missions.
According to WorkSafeBC, the exam must be conducted every 2 years for divers under the age of 40 and every year after that.the
